One of our vows as New Yorkers is to go on a date every week to a new restaurant. With literally thousands of cafes, diners and sit-down joints all over the city, we are trying to push ourselves out so we try as many different places as possible. I’ve been doing a lot of research for cool restaurants at work for upcoming events (rough, I know) , so I’ve been keeping a list with places that I think we need to try. #RealTalk a lot of restaurants are super expensive, so I weed those out right away, regardless of their reviews.
Brunch is my favorite meal. Bottomless cocktail brunch is even better. But, since Adam and I wanted to spend the day exploring on Saturday (read: I couldn’t get drunk and pass out early) we opted for just regular brunch. We wandered over to Penelope, a cute little restaurant just a few blocks from our apartment. Because we got a late start, we had to wait around an hour for a table (my only complaint). Other than that, the food was good – I had an egg sandwich on a homemade croissant and Adam had nutella-stuffed French Toast – and they had apple cider mimosas (I never said we didn’t drink at all). New York, I think we’re going to be a good match.
