Fall is my favorite time of year, and it’s the most magical here in the city. The weather shifts quickly, and it feels like overnight the colors start to turn, too. Because we’re in our late twenties/going on retirement age, we take any opportunity we can get to see the changing seasons and explore as the weather cools down (we’ve got a truly basic weekend planned next week that involves a lot of scenic drives, apple picking and all around fall festivities).
This past weekend started with a half baked plan to get out of town and go for a hike to see how much the leaves had changed, but neither of us felt like getting out of bed in time to make it happen. Instead, we hopped on an early afternoon train, trekked up to the New York Botanical Garden and spent the afternoon wandering the grounds and enjoying the perfect fall day.
