Bali – Seminyak

January 22, 2018

In all honesty, part of the reason it’s taken me so long to write this post is I don’t remember a lot about what we did in Seminyak, and we have surprisingly few photos of this specific stop to remind me (the other, larger reason it’s taken so long is I am lazy). Nonetheless, here’s what I do recall…

Seminyak is where we celebrated our 2nd anniversary (or, honeymoon, since I apparently noted on every reservation that’s what our trip was for…lots of flower petals and towel swans upon arrival), and it’s also where we stayed in the nicest hotel of the trip – The Wolas Villas. If you’re planning a stay in Seminyak, I can’t recommend this place enough — in comparison to other hotel options in the area, it’s on the pricier side, but in comparison to anywhere we’ve ever visited before, it was a total steal (~$150/night for a totally private villa with an outdoor pool and entertaining area, couples massage, dinner, and daily breakfast – which they will serve on your patio, if you request it). In truth, I think part of the reason we have fewer photos of Seminyak in general is because we hung out at the hotel more than we usually do because it was so baller.

P.S. I borrowed this image from Prestigia

When we did venture out of the hotel, we mostly popped around to various beaches in the area. Seminyak definitely felt the most scene-y of any location we visited on our trip, and if we were going back we’d probably stay in nearby Canggu instead. It was smaller and more laid back (super hipster vibe), but also much less touristy and overrun (but, fair warning, we were there in off-peak season). In any event, Seminyak was still great and it’s hard to complain about anything we did in Bali because it was such a magical trip.
